Our Relationship

In the most unexpected of times and places, love found a way. During the summer of 2020, amid the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic, Darlene and Kayesean's paths crossed in a parking lot in Ruston, Tacoma, Washington. Surrounded by friends and laughter, Darlene's infectious sense of humor and radiant energy left an impression on Kayesean that he couldn't shake. A month would pass before fate brought them together again, but when it did, everything changed.

From that moment on, they became inseparable. By July 2020, they were officially a couple, and what began as a chance encounter blossomed into a beautiful partnership. Where Kayesean is quiet and reserved, Darlene is outspoken and empathetic—two souls who balance each other perfectly, like pieces of a puzzle meant to fit together.

Their love story quickly grew to include Kayesean's two boys, Kenzo and Kai, who were just 4 and 3 years old when Darlene stepped into their lives with open arms and an open heart. During their first holiday season together, their family expanded even more with the adoption of two beloved dogs, Oreo and Melon. Then came their two more blessings: their son Marcel and their daughter Mazikeen, completing their beautiful, blended family.

Through it all, Darlene has poured her heart into everything she does—whether she's behind the bar, where her warmth, sincerity, and genuine care for others have earned her glowing praise, or at home, where she fills their lives with love and laughter. Kayesean, dedicated and steady, has spent over a decade working in airport security, providing for his family with quiet strength and unwavering commitment.

Together, they've built a life rooted in celebrating each other and their loved ones—honoring every accomplishment, big or small, no matter how hectic life gets. They've learned that the greatest moments aren't always the grandest; sometimes, they're found in the everyday joys they share.

In June 2025, Kayesean returned to the place where their story began. There, in the place where it all started, he asked Darlene to be his forever. She said yes.

Now, surrounded by the love of family and friends, Darlene and Kayesean will celebrate their journey and say "I do" on November 7, 2026, in Las Vegas, Nevada. From Seattle, Washington, to the bright lights of Vegas, their love story continues as a testament to finding light in unexpected places and building a lifetime of memories together.
